Both put a real coach on video with you, live. Bespoke Fit sells one unlimited plan. HipTrain sells 1 to 3 sessions a week. Here is how to choose.
Full disclosure: HipTrain wrote this page, and we're one of the two options on it. So yes, we're biased. Every fact about Bespoke Fit comes from what Bespoke Fit publishes on its own site, and our sources are listed at the end.
Bespoke Fit and HipTrain are close cousins. Both give you a real coach, live on video, every session, and both keep you with the same coach. The big difference is how you pay. Bespoke Fit sells one plan with unlimited sessions: $49 for the first month, then $299 a month for its founding members. HipTrain sells plans for 1 to 3 sessions a week, from $59.49 a month (about $14 a session). Choose Bespoke Fit if you want to train live three or more times a week for 45 to 60 minutes. Choose HipTrain if one or two sessions a week, or 30-minute sessions, suit you better, or if you want to try a session for free first.
HipTrain is live personal training over video. You answer a two-minute questionnaire, and we match you with a certified coach who fits your goals and your calendar. Many people go from sign-up to a first session in under a day.
At the time you booked, your coach meets you on video, watches your form, and adjusts as you go. It's the same coach every session, and if it isn't a fit, we rematch you. No gym or equipment is needed. You can join from a phone, tablet or computer, chat with your coach between sessions, and reschedule anytime in the app.
"I LOVE my trainer! He is leading me to improve my stamina and balance after hip replacement at a cost I can afford. Also I appreciate the ease of adjusting our schedule and that he is ok with 30 minute sessions." (Helene B., Google review)
Bespoke Fit also offers live 1-on-1 video training. Its site says a coach "joins you on a video call for every workout," watches your form and calls cues in real time. Coaches are matched to you on goals, personality and schedule, and you keep the same coach. You and your coach pick session times week by week. Sessions are "typically 45 to 60 minutes."
The plan is unlimited. Bespoke Fit says you can train "six sessions a week or multiple sessions per day," under a fair use policy. That policy lets you cancel more than 12 hours ahead with no charge, gives you three free late cancellations a month, and then charges $20 for each extra late cancellation.
Pricing is a founding member offer: $49 for your first month, then $299 a month, "locked for life" while you stay a member. Bespoke Fit says it is taking 25 founding members, and after that the rate moves to $499 a month. There's no contract, and it offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. You need a phone, tablet or laptop with a camera, and nothing else to start. Bespoke Fit has apps on iOS and Android and a web app.
Here are the published prices side by side.
The math depends on how often you train. A month has about 4.3 weeks, so three sessions a week is about 13 sessions. If you train once or twice a week, HipTrain costs less: $109.99 a month for one 60-minute session a week, or $219.99 for two, against $299 at Bespoke Fit's founding rate. If you train three times a week for an hour, the founding rate ($299) is a little below our 3-a-week, 60-minute plan ($319.99). At four or more sessions a week, Bespoke Fit's founding rate costs less per session than we do. At its $499 rate, HipTrain costs less at every frequency we offer. See all our plans in the pricing section.
We'd rather you pick the right thing than pick us. Our plans top out at three sessions a week, so if you want to train live more often than that, Bespoke Fit's unlimited plan is built for it. We have far fewer reviews than the big apps (29 App Store ratings) and a small coach roster. Like Bespoke Fit, we ask you to show up live at a set time, so if you want fully self-paced workouts, an app-based program fits better. We don't advertise nutrition coaching, insurance billing or a big on-demand library, and we don't offer in-person sessions.
Yes. Bespoke Fit says a real coach joins you on video for every workout. HipTrain works the same way. Neither one is a recorded class library.
Bespoke Fit says yes, with no cap on sessions, as long as you and your coach agree on a schedule. Its fair use policy covers late cancellations and no-shows.
HipTrain's first session is free, with no credit card. Bespoke Fit doesn't list a free trial. Its first month is $49, with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
It depends on how often you train. At one or two sessions a week, HipTrain is cheaper. At four or more hour-long sessions a week, Bespoke Fit's $299 founding rate works out lower per session.
